Conflicts Advisor

Birchrose Associates is representing a leading international law firm in the search for a Conflicts Advisor to join their London-based Risk & Compliance team.

The Firm

Our client is a prestigious global law firm with a strong international presence, recognised for its collaborative culture, high-quality work and commitment to risk management and regulatory compliance.

The Opportunity

The successful Conflicts Advisor will join the firm's New Business & Enterprise Risk team, playing a key role in the identification, assessment and resolution of legal and commercial conflicts of interest across the firm's global offices. Duties will include:

Conducting conflict checks on new clients and matters globally Analysing internal and external information sources to identify legal, commercial and reputational conflicts Advising partners and lawyers on conflict search results, firm policies and risk management procedures Supporting the management of information barriers and confidential information Reviewing Matter Risk Assessments and identifying wider risk issues, including sanctions, financial crime and reputational concerns Liaising with Financial Crime and Compliance teams regarding client and matter onboarding requirements Collaborating with colleagues across London, Sydney and the US Contributing to ongoing process improvements and the development of conflicts management systems and technology

Requirements

Previous experience within a law firm Risk & Compliance, Conflicts, New Business Intake or matter inception function Experience of client onboarding, KYC, AML or matter management processes (advantageous) Law degree or equivalent (desired)
