About the Role
The National Energy System Operator (NESO) is proud to champion ambitious and talented individuals helping transform Great Britain’s energy system into a cleaner and more sustainable future. We’re seeking a Connections Operations Support Manager to lead our newly established team responsible for optimising the end-to-end connections application process.
Key Responsibilities
The Connections Operations Support Manager will ensure the process delivers timely, compliant, and high-quality results aligned with Connections Reform. Core responsibilities include:
- Own and manage the entire connections application lifecycle, providing clarity, consistency, and governance across all phases.
- Develop and maintain robust operational governance frameworks, ensuring process compliance and high-quality delivery.
- Identify efficiencies through automation, workflow optimisation, and manual process reduction.
- Drive enhancements to customer experience, operational efficiency, and data reliability.
Requirements
About You
We’re looking for candidates with:
- Strong operational leadership – Expertise in managing complex, large-scale processes.
- Regulated industry experience ideal, but equivalent regulatory environments considered (structured applications/workflows).
- Data-driven performance improvement skills – leveraging KPIs, analytics, and reporting to drive results.
- Cross-team & offshore management experience.
- Hyper-attentive to detail, particularly data quality and control.
- Stakeholder alignment expertise – translating operational insights into clear, actionable plans.
- Clear communication – ability to explain technical details to diverse audiences.

What You’ll Gain
- Competitive salary range: £70,000–£80,000 (performance-dependent).
- Annual Bonus: Up to 15% of salary for stretch performance.
- 28 days standard holiday + flexible bank holiday/trading scheme.
- Doubled-pension match package (currently capped at 12% company contribution).
