Due to continuous growth, we are looking for a Connections Operations Support Manager to join our team.
About the Role
The Connections Operations Support Manager will lead the newly established Connections Operations Support team, responsible for:
- Ensuring the effective operation of the end-to-end connections application process
- Delivering high-quality, timely, and compliant results aligned to Connections Reform
Key Accountabilities
- Own and manage the end-to-end connections application process, ensuring:
- Clarity, consistency, and governance across all stages
- Strong operational governance, including process compliance and quality assurance
- Identify opportunities to:
- Streamline processes
- Improve automation
- Reduce manual handling
- Drive improvements that enhance:
- Customer experience
- Efficiency
- Data reliability
About You

Essential Experience & Skills:
- Strong operational leadership skills to manage complex processes at scale
- Experience of running structured application or workflow processes, ideally in a regulated environment
- Proven track record of driving performance using data, KPIs, and reporting
- Experience of managing or collaborating with offshore / remote teams
- Exceptional attention to detail with a strong focus on data quality and process control
- Ability to operate across multiple stakeholders and drive alignment in complex environments
- Strong communication skills, capable of translating operational insights into clear actions

What You’ll Get
- Competitive salary: £70,000 - £80,000, dependent on experience and capability
- Performance-related bonus: Up to 15% of salary for exceptional performance
- 28 days annual leave as standard

At the National Energy System Operator (NESO), we play a vital role in tackling climate change and securing Great Britain’s energy future. We:
- Operate the world’s fastest decarbonising electricity system, aiming for a short carbon-free running period this year (if the market supplies negligible or zero-carbon energy exclusively).
- Provide expert guidance to the government to deliver a clean power system by 2030
- Are an independent, expert public corporation since transitioning from the Electricity System Operator (ESO) in autumn 2024, covering a whole-system view across electricity, gas, and hydrogen
- Operate independently, transparently, always putting energy users' interests first—licensed and regulated by Ofgem
