Consolidation Accountant
Consolidation Accountant – Market Rate – Outside IR35 – London (5 Days Per Week Onsite)
About the Role
We are seeking a qualified Consolidation Accountant to play a key role in the implementation of SAP Group Reporting as part of our finance transformation program. This position combines technical accounting expertise, system configuration, and process design to deliver a robust, automated consolidation solution for the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
System Implementation & Design
- Collaborate with finance and IT teams to define requirements for SAP Group Reporting analysis
- Design and configure modules for effective consolidation workflows
Data Migration & Validation
- Assist in mapping legacy data to SAP Group Reporting
- Perform reconciliations and validate data integrity across systems
Testing & User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
- Develop test scripts for consolidation scenarios, including multi-currency and multi-entity group structures
- Execute UAT exercises and document results to ensure system outputs align with accounting requirements

Process Optimization
- Document new consolidation processes and best practices
- Support the creation of training materials and user guides for the finance team
Go-Live & Post-Implementation Support
- Provide hands-on support during go-live and initial reporting cycles
- Troubleshoot technical and process-related issues
- Contribute to continuous improvement of reporting workflows
Skills & Qualifications
Essential
- Qualified accountant (preferably ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent)
- Strong understanding of group consolidation principles under IFRS/UK GAAP
- Hands-on experience with consolidation systems, particularly SAP Group Reporting or SAP Financial Close (FC)
- Proven involvement in consolidation finance system implementation projects
- Proficiency in Advanced Excel, including pivot tables, data validation, and macros
- Experience in multi-entity, multi-currency environments
- Deep knowledge of intercompany eliminations and complex ownership structures
- Familiarity with SAP Analytics Cloud or similar business intelligence tools
