Our Academies Division here at Learning Curve Group is made up of over 35 Academies specialising in Hair & Beauty, Construction, Business & Pre-Uniformed Services. Our Construction Academies are based in both Middlesbrough, Sunderland and Exeter we specialise in Trades which include Bricklaying, Plastering, Carpentry & Joinery and Painting & Decorating. In Exeter we also deliver Gas Engineering, and specialist trade areas such as Electrical 18th Education and 2392, and LPG accreditation. Our offering of provision in these areas vary from Short & Long Courses to Apprenticeships, Study Programmes and Commercial clients where our learners will receive experience of trading within a fully working workshop.
Main Purpose of the Post
At the heart of our service to our learners and employer clients and their apprentices, are our tutors and assessors, whose key role is to support and guide students through every stage of their journey. You will be at the leading edge of our commitment to provide every student with an outstanding experience and help our clients see a clear return on their investment. We are seeking a painting and decorating tutor / assessor with experience of TLA and NVQ framework delivery able to develop the skills, behaviors and competencies of apprentices in construction (Painting & Decorating).

You will need these important qualities

Essential Criteria
- Qualified up to Level 3 in Painting & Decorating.
- Relevant Teaching & Assessing Qualifications.
- Understanding of the Education and Training Industry.
My Main Duties
- Carry out learner inductions and associated processes
- Deliver a timetable of learning as agreed with the Centre Manager
- Undertake qualification delivery and planning in collaboration with team members and the Centre Manager that meets LCG and external expectations
- Ensure student ILP’s are completed appropriate to individual learner requirements, including smart target setting and incorporating planned review points
- Complete the required registers and documentation to the required standards of the contract and ensuring that these are communicated to colleagues within their required deadlines
- Monitor attendance and performance of the learners on an ongoing basis and effectively report to management
- Ensure that support systems are provided to facilitate positive retention, achievement and progression
- Timely completion of assessment and documentation to meet Awarding Body, funding Body and organisational requirements
- Submit portfolios in a timely manner for interim and summative verification to the internal moderator
- Prepare area reports where required, and contribute to inspection activities and the self assessment reporting cycle as required
- Contribute where appropriate to learner disciplinary action requirements
- Maintain a log of the equipment used by the learners in your department and take appropriate measures to prevent the loss of equipment through theft
- Attend standardisation and team meetings at the designated centres
- Undertake internal moderation activities as required
- Promote and ensure safe working practices in line with current Health and Safety legislation, including health and safety department inspections and risk assessments
- Undertake appropriate learning and development activities as required for the job role and maintain a record of all CPD
- Ensure the work area is clean and safe for all the staff and learners on a daily and ongoing basis
- Deliver weekend courses on a rotation basis and shared with other team members over the course of the year if required
- Any other requirement which may be asked of from time to time.
- Provide learners, customers and colleagues with support, advice guidance as part of your everyday role
