Role Overview
Overseeing the delivery of major construction packages, ensuring safety, quality, programme and budget targets are met. Makes informed operational decisions on sequencing and works closely with the delivery team to develop robust short, mid, and long‑term plans that drive coordinated, efficient and successful project execution.
Responsibilities
- Supporting senior construction leadership by planning short‑term works, coordinating trade contractors and ensuring safety, wellbeing and quality across allocated areas.
- Managing lookahead planning, provide technical guidance and maintain strong relationships with clients, designers and delivery teams.
- Driving continuous improvement, digital adoption and responsible business priorities.
- Collaborating across teams to meet programme goals and advance net‑zero ambitions.
- Managing exceptional safety, quality, sustainability and compliance standards, applying strong health and safety expertise.
- Building trusted relationships with clients and senior stakeholders, supporting construction leadership to translate project vision into deliverable plans.
- Ensuring ethical, compliant and financially responsible project delivery, contributing to long‑term business strategy.
- Developing teams, share best practice and provide technical guidance, fostering an inclusive, high‑performing culture.

Requirements
- Experience and knowledge of construction sequencing, recovery plans and resource allocation.
- Good understanding of the post holder’s obligations under CDM Regulations.
- Working knowledge in the delivery of projects.
- Be able to write informative, concise and meaningful reports.
- Motivate and energise contract partners by building a climate of trust and understanding and actively seeking alternative views and opinions.
- Possess excellent organisation and communication skills.
- Tertiary qualifications in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or Construction management, or equivalent vocational training and experience.
- SMSTS or IOSH qualification holder.
- Collaborate with other managers to effectively manage operations of the site.
- Adopt a results-focussed mind set, using initiative wherever possible and taking personal responsibility and accountability to ensure necessary action is taken to deliver excellence, value and quality.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders.
