📋 Job Description
Mechanical Installation Engineer – Nuclear Construction (ITO)
You will support the delivery of mechanical equipment installation activities across a major nuclear construction programme. The role focuses on construction delivery, contractor coordination, and installation of critical rotating equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- 🔧 Support delivery of mechanical installation works across assigned construction areas.
- ⚙️ Monitor installation of pumps, gearboxes, and rotating equipment packages.
- 🛡️ Promote safety, quality, and compliance throughout construction delivery activities.
- 📋 Review contractor documentation, audits, and assurance inspection findings.
- 🤝 Coordinate closely with logistics, quality, and project controls teams.
- 📈 Track progress, escalate issues, and provide detailed construction reports.
- 🏗️ Attend technical meetings and support contractor delivery performance improvement.
- 🔍 Conduct site inspections to support project health, safety and quality objectives.
- 📑 Maintain accurate construction records and daily site activity logs.
- 🚀 Support construction sequencing, recovery planning, and resource allocation activities.

📍 Qualifications & Experience
Essential
- 🎓 A Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent technical qualification.
- ⚙️ Experience delivering construction projects within complex industrial environments.
- 🔧 Strong knowledge of rotating equipment installation and mechanical assembly techniques.
- 📏 Familiarity with the use of precision measuring instruments, including dial gauges and micrometers.
- 📚 Ability to read mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic engineering drawings.
- 🛡️ Understanding of CDM Regulations and construction safety responsibilities.
- 🏅 Holding an SMSTS or IOSH qualification with strong safety leadership skills.
- 🤝 Excellent stakeholder management and contractor coordination capabilities.
- 📝 Strong report writing, organisational, and communication skills.
