Construction Disputes Senior Associate / Partner
Senior Associate / Partner – Construction Disputes (London)
The Role
William James Recruitment, exclusively acting for a boutique construction law firm, is seeking a Senior Associate or Partner-level Construction lawyer to join its London-based practice as it enters an exciting phase of growth.
The firm provides top-tier advice to developers and contractors with £100m+ turnover, specialising in transactional and contentious construction matters across domestic projects. Their work spans all major sectors, with a strong focus on JCT and NEC contracts and the resolution of complex, business-critical disputes.
Unlike traditional City model law firms, this practice prioritises high-quality advice, long-term client relationships, and a balanced, sustainable way of working over scalability, rankings, or leverage.
This opportunity is ideal for a high-calibre construction lawyer seeking to join a trusted and independent team, where senior lawyers take ownership of matters, help shape the future of the practice, and deliver commercially focused, bespoke advice.
The Work
Your role will encompass a diverse spectrum of construction and engineering matters, including:

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
