Construction Disputes Senior Associate / Partner
Senior Associate / Partner – Construction Disputes (London)
The Role
William James Recruitment is exclusively instructed by a specialist boutique construction law firm recruiting a Senior Associate or Partner-level Construction lawyer to join its London-based practice during an exciting next phase of growth.
The firm advises developers and contractors with £100m+ turnover, acting on a wide range of transactional and contentious construction matters across domestic projects. Work spans all major sectors, with a strong focus on JCT and NEC contracts and complex, business-critical disputes.
The practice is deliberately independent of the traditional City model. Rather than pursuing scale, rankings or leverage, it focuses on high-quality advice, long-term client relationships, and a balanced, sustainable way of working.
This is an opportunity to join a highly regarded construction practice where senior lawyers are trusted to take ownership of matters, shape the future of the team, and deliver bespoke, commercially focused advice.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
