Role Description
The Construction Estimator is a full-time, on-site role based in Greater London. This role is responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates for residential and commercial construction projects, including reviewing drawings, specifications, and scope documents.
Day-to-day Tasks
- Performing quantity take-offs
- Sourcing and evaluating subcontractor and supplier quotations
- Preparing budgets and tender submissions
The Construction Estimator collaborates closely with project managers, architects, and suppliers to ensure estimates are accurate, competitive, and aligned with project requirements. The role also involves monitoring cost changes, updating estimates as designs evolve, and supporting cost control during project delivery.

Qualifications

- Strong construction estimating skills, including experience preparing detailed estimates for residential and commercial projects.
- Proficiency in quantity take-offs and use of relevant estimating or CAD software.
- Cost management and budgeting skills, with the ability to analyze pricing, track costs, and support financial decision-making.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with internal teams, clients, architects, engineers, and suppliers.
- Relevant experience in construction or property development, ideally within high-end or luxury projects.
- Strong numerical, analytical, and organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Knowledge of UK construction standards, materials, and procurement practices.
- Professional qualification or degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.
