About Us
Hubber is on a mission to electrify urban transport.
Cities are going electric, but infrastructure isn’t keeping up. From taxis to delivery fleets, commercial operators are transitioning to EVs faster than charging networks can scale. We’re fixing that. Hubber develops high powered charging hubs in dense urban locations where fleets actually operate.
In the last 12 months, we’ve opened our first hubs, secured a £60m facility and signed an ambitious partnership with Uber. Now we’re scaling rapidly and delivering hundreds of sites requires a world-class construction function.
The Role
As Construction Lead, you will own how Hubber delivers construction across its entire portfolio – from pre-construction through to build, energisation and handover.
You are responsible for setting the strategy, standards, and commercial approach that underpin delivery. You will ensure we are working with the right contractors, at the right cost, with the right level of performance.
You will lead the construction function and build a team, ensuring projects are delivered fast, on-budget, safely, and to a consistently high standard.
You will work closely with leadership and operate alongside the Programme Manager to ensure construction is fully aligned with programme and design requirements.
This role is critical to scaling a high-performing, repeatable construction model across a national rollout.

- Continuously improve speed, cost, and reliability of construction delivery
- Collaborate across functions

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
