About the Role
KBR is seeking a Construction Manager to support the successful delivery of complex engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) projects within its infrastructure and energy portfolio.
This critical role is responsible for leading site-based construction activities, ensuring alignment with:
- Project execution plans
- Contractual obligations
- Client requirements from mobilisation through final handover
Operating as a central point of coordination across multidisiciplinary teams, the Construction Manager integrates engineering, procurement, and construction functions to deliver:
- Safe, high-quality outcomes
- Projects delivered within schedule and budget constraints
Through structured planning, detailed reporting, and effective communication, the role ensures construction activities are executed efficiently and in accordance with industry standards.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all on-site construction activities across assigned projects, ensuring alignment with:
- Approved execution strategies
- Project objectives
- Oversee contractors and subcontractors to ensure work meets:
- Technical specifications
- Schedules
- Quality standards
- Monitor project progress against milestones, identifying and mitigating risks to maintain timelines
- Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies and regulatory requirements across all site operations
- Review and approve:
- Construction methodologies
- Work plans
- Risk assessments
- Permit-to-work systems
- Coordinate closely with:
- Engineering teams
- Procurement teams
- Project controls to ensure seamless integration of project phases
- Manage cost performance by:
- Tracking expenditures
- Supporting budget control
- Contributing to forecasting and reporting activities
- Facilitate communication between:
- Clients
- Consultants
- Site teams
- Providing regular updates on project status and key deliverables
- Lead:
- Site inspections
- Quality assurance processes
- Resolution of technical/operational issues during construction

Requirements
Experience Required
Essential
- Significant experience managing construction activities on large-scale EPC or infrastructure projects
- Proven experience overseeing:
- Subcontractors
- Multidisciplinary site teams
- Demonstrated experience managing:
- Project schedules
- Budgets
- Cost control activities
- SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) certification
Desirable
- Experience working on:
- Energy
- Utilities
- Major infrastructure programmes
- Familiarity with project management tools such as:
- Primavera P6
- Equivalent scheduling software
- Experience within a:
- Project Management Consultancy (PMC)
- Client-side environment
Technical Skills/Knowledge
Essential
- Experience interpreting:
- Construction drawings
- Technical specifications
- Experience managing construction activities on EPC projects
- Experience using:
- Primavera P6
- Equivalent project scheduling tools
- Experience managing:
- Construction schedules
- Cost performance
Qualifications/Certifications
Essential
- Bachelor’s Degree in:
- Civil Engineering
- Construction Management
- Related discipline
- Valid:
- CSCS card
- Equivalent site certification for construction management roles
- SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) certification
Desirable
- Chartered status or membership with:
- Chtered Institute of Building (CIOB)
- Equivalent professional body
- NEBOSH Construction Certificate or equivalent health & safety qualification
