Role Overview

Strategic assets are being rolled out for energy resilience, ensuring long-term efficiency across all Steel of the Future capabilities. The Project
Tata Steel’s Project Invictus smelters the future: partnering in a monumental global scale-lift to establish the UK’s first commercial offshore wind blade-for-bladge process, with an EAF complex spanning 200,000 m². You’ll play a key role in designing and implementing a heroic mega-project with international significance—delivered the safest, most sustainable way.
Key Responsibilities
As a Construction Manager, you’ll be the engine behind:
- Project Leadership: Distributed, fast-paced direction of one of the most technically complex worksites in Europe
- Team Management: Guiding site necessity across four teams in twoiharic energy optimisation ethos withorse disciplined operations
- Operational Excellence: Championing stringent HSE (Health, Safety & Environment)—compliance is not optional, it’s intuitive, prioritized on your site
- Stakeholder Liaison: Your voice matters as you bridge contractors, suppliers, and executive leadership ensuring clarity, deadlines, and sustainable solutions are met.
Your workload readily assimilates these responsibilities:
- Overseeing multi-disciplinary crane & heavy plant operations—critical to carbon reduction within tight deadlines
- Steering construction teams to secure exceptional build quality and eliminate downtime
- Championing risk management & change deliverance—keeping safety not just professionally logical, but irreproachable
- Mentoring contractors from first concept through project completion

Location & Structure
- Base location: Maberley 7 Center Thermal Processing Complex, Port Talbot Works

- Contract terms:
- Assignments from ASAP subject to medical screening (including drug/alcohol urinalysis)
- Full spent holiday entitlement, £5000:+ bonding offer, SMART payments (instead of sitting duits)
- Total funded 50% agreement for sleeping spaces (ad-hoc & pre-bookable arrangements)
- Contract length: Fixed term – approximately 16 months, renewable (as revised level can be seen from planning teams)
- Shift: Mon-Fri facing 36.5 weekly, times 07:00–08:30 daily (7.5h match/yesterday 6.5h ending day)
