Contract: Contractor (Outside IR35 / Ltd Company, subject to engagement)
Duration: 3 Months (with potential extension)
Rate: £450 per day (all-inclusive)
Start: ASAP
Pentagon Technical Services is currently seeking an experienced Construction Manager – Fire & Life Safety to support a major project in Acton, London.
This is a site-based role, where you will take responsibility for the successful delivery of the Fire & Life Safety package, ensuring works are completed safely, on programme, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the delivery of the Fire & Life Safety package throughout the construction phase.
- Coordinate and oversee specialist subcontractors responsible for Fire & Life Safety systems.
- Ensure works are delivered in accordance with project specifications, relevant standards, and client requirements.
- Monitor programme, quality, and productivity across all Fire & Life Safety activities.
- Review and approve RAMS, inspection test plans (ITPs), and installation methodologies.
- Coordinate with Construction, MEP, QA/QC and Commissioning teams to ensure smooth project delivery.
- Attend progress meetings and provide regular updates on package status.
- Identify and resolve technical and construction issues in a timely manner.
- Ensure all Health & Safety requirements are maintained throughout the project.
- Support testing, commissioning, snagging, and final handover activities.

Essential Requirements
- Previous experience as a Construction Manager on major construction or mission-critical projects.
- Proven experience delivering Fire & Life Safety packages.
- Strong understanding of one or more of the following systems:
- Fire Alarm Systems
- Fire Suppression Systems (FM200, Novec, Inergen or similar)
- Sprinkler Systems
- Smoke Control / Smoke Extraction
- VESDA / Early Warning Detection
- Passive Fire Protection / Fire Stopping
- Experience coordinating multiple subcontractors and stakeholders.
- Good understanding of construction sequencing, QA/QC processes, and commissioning.
- SMSTS, CSCS (Black or appropriate management card), and First Aid preferred.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Desirable
- Previous experience on Data Centre, Mission Critical, Pharmaceutical, or other complex MEP projects.
- Knowledge of relevant British Standards, NFPA, or equivalent Fire & Life Safety standards.
Package
- £450 per day (all-inclusive)
- 3-month contract, with the possibility of extension.
- Site-based in Acton, London.
- Immediate start available for the right candidate
