Walker & Sloan are proud to be exclusively partnering with an established and highly respected multi-disciplinary construction contractor to recruit a Construction Manager to join their growing operational team.

Our client delivers a diverse portfolio of projects across groundworks, civil engineering, building repairs, refurbishment, landscaping, and specialist construction works. With an excellent reputation for quality delivery, long-standing client relationships, and continued business growth, this is an exciting opportunity to join a contractor with a strong pipeline of secured work across the region.

We're looking to speak with experienced Construction Managers who enjoy leading multiple projects, building high-performing teams, and delivering work safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.

The Role

As Construction Manager, you will take overall responsibility for the successful delivery of multiple construction projects, overseeing programmes from initial planning through to completion.

Working closely with operational teams, commercial colleagues, clients, subcontractors, and suppliers, you'll ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the exceptional standards the business is known for.

This is a varied and hands-on leadership role, offering the opportunity to work across a broad range of construction disciplines within a well-established regional contractor.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leading the successful delivery of multiple construction projects across the region
  • Developing and managing project programmes to ensure key milestones are achieved
  • Managing project budgets, resources, and operational performance
  • Building strong relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers
  • Carrying out regular site inspections to monitor quality, safety, and programme performance
  • Identifying and mitigating project risks while resolving site issues efficiently
  • Reviewing construction drawings, specifications, contracts, and technical documentation
  • Leading project meetings and providing regular progress updates to senior management and clients
  • Ensuring full compliance with health & safety legislation, company procedures, and industry standards
  • Supporting procurement activities and ensuring materials and plant are available to meet programme requirements

Candidate Profile

  • Proven experience as a Construction Manager, Contracts Manager, or Senior Site Manager within a construction environment
  • Strong understanding of groundworks, civil engineering, refurbishment, or maintenance projects
  • Excellent knowledge of construction methods, health & safety legislation, and current industry standards
  • Commercially aware with strong planning and organisational skills
  • Confident managing multiple projects and operational teams simultaneously
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management abilities
  • IT literate with experience using Microsoft Office and project management software
  • NVQ Level 4 (or above) in Construction or Contract Management
  • Full UK driving licence
