Construction Project Director – Large-Scale & High-Value Projects (Europa)

The partner is seeking a Construction Project Director in the United Kingdom.
About the Role
You will take full strategic and operational responsibility for delivering large-scale, high-value construction projects across Europe, ensuring excellence in execution, safety, and commercial performance. This senior leadership role sits at the intersection of project delivery, team management, and client engagement, requiring a blend of technical expertise and executive-level oversight.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading multidisciplinary construction teams
- Overseeing complex building envelope projects (roofing, cladding, façade works)
- Collaborating with clients, stakeholders, and internal leadership to deliver successful outcomes from planning to completion
- Driving operational efficiency, risk management, and profitability across concurrent projects
- Maintaining a strong on-site presence and consistent global delivery standards
This is a high-impact leadership position where your decisions directly shape project success, client satisfaction, and business growth.
Accountabilities
- Provide strategic leadership across construction teams, ensuring operational excellence, cost control, and project profitability.
- Oversee end-to-end delivery of high-value projects, from early planning & resource allocation through execution to completion.
- Develop detailed project programmes, including critical paths, key milestones, and resource strategies across European sites.
- Coordinate international logistics across:
- Workforce planning
- Travel & accommodation
- Permits & health, safety, and environmental (HSE) compliance
- Ensure strict adherence to:
- Design specifications
- Quality standards
- Site & safety regulations
- Contractual obligations
- Lead client and stakeholder engagement, fostering trust and meaningful communication throughout the project lifecycle.
- Monitor and mitigate commercial & operational risks, with timely escalation of unresolved issues.
- Oversee site documentation, reporting, and governance to support senior leadership decision-making.
- Participate in strategic discussions with senior leadership, offering data-driven inputs and reporting insights.

Requirements

| Experience | Minimum 15 years in senior construction project management or leadership (specialisation in roofing, cladding, façades, or related fields). |
| Education | Degree in Construction, Civil Engineering, or equivalent technical discipline. |
| Project Delivery Track Record | Proven success in managing medium-to-large-scale projects across multiple sites/regions in complex urban/rural environments. |
| Technical Knowledge | Robust expertise in roofing, cladding, façade systems, construction methods, and health & safety regulations. |
| Commercial & Financial Acumen | Strong budgeting, cost control, and profitability management skills across multiple projects. |
| Leadership & Team Coordination | Ability to inspire and align high-performing teams under pressure, with culturally sensitive international collaboration. |
| Multi-Project Planning | Track record of planning and executing concurrent projects under deadlines. |
| Tools & Proficiencies | Proficient in Microsoft Office; familiarity with project management tools (e.g., Microsoft Project) is advantageous. |
| Communication & Negotiation | Exceptional client relationship-building and negotiation abilities. |
| Soft Skills | Adaptability, resilience, and thriving in fast-paced, global environments. |
| Licence & Language | Valid driver’s license; fluency in English. |
| Geographical Flexibility | Open to assignments in the UK, Ireland, or mainland Europe. |
