About the Role

Serco is delivering planned, reactive service improvements (SV/ARC variation projects) and Asset Modernisation Programme (AMP) Estates projects across the Defence Academy site under Defence Acquisition Capability Improvement (DACI) and PFI contracts.

As a Client-Side Construction Project Manager, you will own project delivery, ensuring on-time, on-budget compliance with contractual obligations and regulatory standards. This high-value role (£2M–£30M projects) requires expertise in managing major construction projects across their full lifecycle in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Leadership:

    • Lead full lifecycle projects—from feasibility to post-occupancy—following RIBA Plan of Works and Serco’s formal project methodologies.
    • Direct multi-disciplinary project teams, ensuring alignment with objectives, scope, and budget.
  • Governance & Documentation:

    • Create, maintain, and enforce business cases, plans, budgets, and governance frameworks.
    • Proactively manage RAID logs (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies) and escalate concerns timely.
    • Monitor compliance with MOD processes, building standards, and Serco’s maintenance requirements.
    • Ensure Contractor/consultant appointments align with Serco’s procurement rules, and oversee cost management.
  • Stakeholder & Subcontractor Management:

    • Collaborate with MOD stakeholders to define business needs and document statements of work.
    • Coordinate subcontractors for repetitive maintenance projects, space optimisation, and asset replacement works.
    • Provide support to senior project managers on high-complexity capital projects.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
