Project Manager β Retail Fit-Out & Refurbishment Projects (UK)
π Based in London, Waterloo with extensive UK travel - 1 day WFH
π Full UK Driving Licence required
We are recruiting on behalf of a dynamic and growing construction project management consultancy seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of high-end retail, leisure and hospitality projects across the UK.
This is an exciting opportunity for a driven, client-focused professional with a strong track record in construction project delivery, retail rollouts, refurbishments and interior fit-outs.
The Role
As Project Manager, you will take ownership of multiple projects from inception through to completion, ensuring delivery on time, within budget and to exceptional quality standards. You will work closely with clients, contractors, consultants and internal teams to successfully manage every stage of the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of multiple construction projects across the UK.
- Manage the full project lifecycle, including programme, budget, risk and stakeholder management.
- Deliver client rollout programmes for new store openings and refurbishment projects.
- Develop and manage project schedules, timelines and key milestones.
- Chair site meetings, monitor project progress and issue meeting minutes and cost reports.
- Carry out feasibility studies, risk assessments and high-level project costing for new sites.
- Drive value engineering initiatives without compromising quality or client expectations.
- Produce weekly client reports and project updates.
- Prepare detailed project estimates and CAPEX forecasts.
- Manage and coordinate external consultants, contractors and suppliers.
- Negotiate contracts and scopes of work, particularly relating to M&E and FF&E packages.
- Ensure compliance with UK construction regulations, building standards and health & safety legislation.
- Identify project risks and implement effective mitigation strategies.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, supporting long-term business growth.
- Mentor and support junior project team members.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of project processes and business operations.

About You
Essential Requirements
- Minimum 5 years' experience in construction project management.
- Proven track record delivering retail, leisure or hospitality projects.
- Experience managing high-end retail interior fit-outs across the UK.
- Strong knowledge of:
- M&E (Mechanical & Electrical)
- FF&E (Furniture, Fixtures & Equipment)
- Value engineering
- Construction methodology
- Excellent understanding of UK building regulations, compliance requirements and health & safety legislation.
- Experience managing client-side and contractor-side project delivery.
- Strong commercial awareness, including budgeting, cost reporting and forecasting.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
- Proactive problem solver with a positive, solutions-focused approach.
- Full UK Driving Licence and willingness to travel extensively throughout the UK.
