Project Manager

Our Client

A growing UK multi-site organisation is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the delivery of new site developments, refurbishments, and capital investment projects across its national estate.

This is a hands-on role with responsibility for managing projects from initial feasibility through to construction, handover, and operational launch, working closely with contractors, consultants, and key stakeholders.

The Role

  • Lead the delivery of construction, fit-out, and refurbishment projects across multiple locations.
  • Conduct site feasibility assessments and provide project recommendations.
  • Manage design development with architects, consultants, and stakeholders.
  • Coordinate tendering and procurement activities.
  • Appoint and manage contractors, suppliers, and project teams.
  • Monitor project budgets, timelines, and overall commercial performance.
  • Carry out regular site inspections to ensure quality, compliance, and health & safety standards are maintained.
  • Manage project risks and resolve delivery issues proactively.
  • Oversee statutory approvals, Building Control requirements, and compliance documentation.
  • Lead project handovers, snagging processes, and post-project reviews.
  • Support estate improvement and refurbishment programmes.

The Successful Candidate

  • Proven experience managing multiple construction, fit-out, refurbishment, or property development projects simultaneously.
  • Strong knowledge of construction project delivery and contractor management.
  • Experience managing budgets, programmes, and project reporting.
  • Understanding of Building Regulations, CDM Regulations, and Health & Safety requirements.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Strong commercial awareness and problem-solving ability.
  • Able to work independently and effectively manage competing priorities.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regularly.

Desirable

  • Project Management qualification (APM, PRINCE2, PMP, or equivalent).
  • Construction-related qualification (Degree, HNC/HND, or similar).
  • Experience within retail, hospitality, childcare, leisure, franchising, or other multi-site environments.
