About the Role
Our client, a residential and hospitality developer, are looking to appoint a Construction Project Manager/Quantity Surveyor. As this is working in-house for the Developer, it will be a varied, all-encompassing role.
Necessary Experience
- Professionally qualified with a construction background.
- Budget estimating, budgetary control, and pricing experience.
- Be able to estimate costs for appraisal purposes based on designs produced by Architects.
- Supreme knowledge of JCT Building Contracts and warranties required from main contractors/subcontractors and experience of negotiating terms.
- A strong understanding of development procurement (subcontractor and suppliers).
- Good practical knowledge of the construction process on site, and be able to challenge timelines given by the site teams.
- Checking through subcontractor applications, responding back in a timely manner, and obtaining invoices for drawdowns by the required dates.
- Preparing and agreeing interim valuations.
- Preparing estimation of direct costs.

Skills Required
- Excellent organizational and administrative skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ability to organize own workload and work to deadlines.
- Ability to communicate at a professional level with both construction and non-construction individuals.
- Experience in constructing and preparing detailed written reports.
- Ability to defend your written report under scrutiny and if necessary, explain via evidence any changes deemed necessary.
- Ability to multitask and manage multiple developments.
- Computer literate, especially in Microsoft Word and Excel.
