Construction Project Site Supervisor

📋 Construction Project Site Supervisor – Fixed Term (2 years)

Position: Construction Project Site Supervisor – Caledonian Maritime Assets Limited (CMAL)

Salary: £39,334 – £54,084 (Grade 6)

About the Role

CMAL owns and maintains vessels and harbour infrastructure critical to Scotland’s ferry services, connecting many communities across the country. We’re seeking motivated and innovative professionals to support the upgrade and maintenance of ports, ensuring they remain safe, efficient, and reliable in line with strategic goals.

We’re recruiting for a Construction Project Site Supervisor (fixed-term contract for 2 years, subject to review) based across the west and northwest coasts of Scotland. The role involves managing Small Vessel Replacement Programme (SVRP) projects, implementing new technologies, maintaining existing infrastructure, and constructing new ferry terminals.

Key Responsibilities

Project Oversight & Delivery

  • Supervise Small Vessel Replacement Programme (SVRP) projects and associated CMAL projects, spread across multiple locations (Colintraive, Portavadie, Largs, Tarbert Loch Fyne, Tobermory, Lochaline, Kilchoan, and others).
  • Champion quality control on site, monitoring compliance with project scopes and technical specifications.
  • Work closely with Project Managers, external contractors, and consultants to deliver projects effectively.
  • Facilitate Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS), finalise Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), and oversee quality checks.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections, mitigate hazards, and address on-site incidents following CMAL’s protocols.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
