Non-Contentious Construction Senior Associate | Manchester | Leading International Firm
At this level, you are not just drafting contracts. You are the person clients call when the procurement strategy needs shaping, when the risk allocation on a landmark project is being debated, and when the junior lawyers need guidance on a point of detail. This firm's Manchester construction team needs a Senior Associate who is ready for that responsibility.
The opportunity
- You will step into a leadership role within the non-contentious team, taking ownership of complex, high-value projects from day one.
- You will work directly with developers, contractors, funders, and public bodies, advising on the full lifecycle of procurement and construction contracts.
- You will manage junior associates and play an active role in their development, and you will contribute to business development, client strategy, and the continued growth of the Manchester practice.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
