Self-Employed Contractor
3–4 Days per Week
Competitive Day Rate: £180–£220 per day (depending on qualifications and experience)

Construction and Engineering Opportunities (CEO) is a growing, non-profit Community Interest Company dedicated to giving young people and adults another chance to succeed.
We work with learners who may have experienced barriers to education, employment or training, helping them develop vocational skills, confidence and the resilience needed to progress into sustainable employment.
About the Role
Working with small learner groups (typically fewer than 10), you will:
- Assess learners against City & Guilds qualification requirements.
- Plan and carry out assessments in line with awarding body standards.
- Maintain accurate assessment records and learner portfolios.
- Provide constructive feedback and support learners to achieve their qualifications.
- Deliver practical sessions where appropriate.
- Support learners to develop employability skills, confidence and positive behaviours.

This is a hands-on role requiring someone who is organised, self-motivated and experienced in vocational assessment.
Essential Requirements
- Occupational competence in Plumbing, Electrical or Multi-Skilled Construction.
- A recognised Assessor Qualification (TAQA, CAVA, A1/D32/D33 or equivalent).
- Experience assessing vocational qualifications.
- Excellent organisational and record-keeping skills.
- Experience working with young people and/or adults from diverse backgrounds.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting learner wellbeing.
Desirable
- Teaching qualification (PTLLS, AET or equivalent).
- Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) qualification.
- Experience delivering City & Guilds qualifications.
- Experience supporting learners with additional needs or challenging life circumstances.
