Construction Solicitor (Non-Contentious) 5+ PQE Birmingham Top 50 UK Law Firm Competitive Salary + Excellent Benefits REF: 4624
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Construction Solicitor to join the highly regarded Construction and Engineering team of a leading national law firm. Acting for an impressive portfolio of developers, investors, contractors, public sector organisations and household-name clients, this is an excellent opportunity to work on some of the UK's most significant construction and infrastructure projects.
The Role
You will advise on a broad range of non-contentious construction matters, supporting major development and regeneration schemes, infrastructure projects, real estate and corporate transactions, property finance and process plant contracts. Working closely with an established national team, you will provide commercially focused advice throughout the lifecycle of complex projects, drafting and negotiating construction documentation including JCT and NEC contracts, development agreements and associated project documentation. There is genuine scope to become involved in mentoring junior lawyers and, for those with an interest, opportunities to undertake a mix of both non-contentious and contentious construction work.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
