Role Overview
We are expanding our panel of consultant residential Assessors and Valuers to undertake portfolio pricing assessments/valuations and inspections (both internally and externally) of social housing properties. We undertake work across the country, and are looking to recruit in all areas of England and Wales.
The Role
You will be inspecting tenanted residential portfolios, completing inspection forms, taking street and portfolio photographs and using your research to provide us with feedback relating to the local property market and the existing housing stock, in addition to completing an excel schedule by recording market pricing and rental estimates– based on market comparable research and discussions with local agents active in the area(s).
You will then provide a consolidated overview of the factors impacting the local residential market and/or attributes that could impact property pricing.
Work will be on a casual basis, on hourly rates (to be agreed) with no retainer. Work will be intermittent with no guaranteed work flow, with projects varying in length from a day to a number of weeks. This position may suit either part-time or retired surveyors, or those seeking to complement existing estate agency or valuation work.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
