Role Overview
Join our dynamic team at Northampton General Hospital as a Consultant Anaesthetist. We are seeking a dedicated and skilled professional to provide expert anaesthetic care and contribute to our high-quality patient services. Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive anaesthetic services across a range of surgical procedures.
- Assess, plan, and deliver anaesthesia care for patients, ensuring safety and efficacy.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient care and outcomes.
- Participate in on-call rotas and provide emergency anaesthetic cover as required.
- Engage in clinical governance activities, including audit, research, and quality improvement projects.
- Contribute to the training and development of junior doctors and other healthcare professionals.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.

Required Qualifications And Experience
- Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC).
- Completion of specialist training in Anaesthetics and possession of the Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or equivalent.
- Experience in providing anaesthetic services in a hospital setting.
- Evidence of continuing professional development (CPD).
Desirable Skills
- Experience in sub-specialties within anaesthetics (e.g., pain management, intensive care).
- Advanced skills in regional anaesthesia and acute pain management.
- Leadership and management experience.
- Research experience and publications in peer-reviewed journals.
