Arboriculture Consultant – WSP, UK

Do you have a passion for trees?

About the Role...

At WSP, you’ll be joining a large, highly experienced, and friendly Ecology and Arboriculture team across the UK. We work on a diverse range of projects with private and public sector clients, delivering commercially viable, innovative, and integrated solutions.

We need a proactive team member who can balance multiple projects—GIS/CAD skills are helpful but not required. While familiarity with digital data capture devices (like tablets in the field) is preferred, we value practical enthusiasm and curiocity above all.

With projects spread across the UK, this role offers flexibility in location, allowing you to travel occasionally while supporting impactful work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the Principal and Senior Consultant in delivering high-quality arboricultural services
  • Conducting site-based surveys, assessments, measurements, inspections, and monitoring (aligned with BS5837:2012 and tree hazard assessments)
  • Collating and interpreting arboricultural information from desk studies
  • Producing technical reports, feasibility studies, and arboricultural impact assessments
  • Supporting arboricultural method statements and development of mitigation strategies
  • Contributing to NSIP/DCO projects, including technical documentation
  • Performing data analysis, project management, and pricing estimates for smaller sites
  • Enthusiastically engaging with junior team members to foster career growth
  • Participating in recruitment when required

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
