Your Impact

As a consultant in our two-year Operations Excellence Program (OEP), you’ll shadow McKinsey consultants on client engagements with these responsibilities:

  • Actively problem-solve for clients by:
    • Identifying issues.
    • Forming hypotheses.
    • Designing and conducting analyses.

This role marks the start of a rewarding, challenging, and flexible career with McKinsey and the Operations Practice. Over your first few years, you’ll earn the expertise needed to help companies achieve operational excellence. Alongside other OEP members, you’ll dedicate days to:

  • Functional training led by operations experts.
  • A curriculum based on operations excellence themes.
  • Advanced training in one of six expertise areas:
    • Manufacturing
    • Product development
    • Purchasing
    • Service operations
    • Supply chain management
    • Capital excellence

Post-program, you’ll join our global operations excellence experts, including alumni at levels from associate to partner.

As part of our European offices’ Operations Practice, you’ll:

  • Combine strategic thinking with hands-on practicality to deliver operational excellence.
  • Support the Capital Excellence service line, advising clients on:
    • Strategic and operational capital projects (construction, infrastructure, etc.).

Your Qualifications and Skills

  • Master’s degree, with exceptional academic record (required).
  • Practical experience in capital excellence topics, such as:
    • Capital projects
    • Capital management systems
    • Real estate
    • Infrastructure
    • Construction
  • Proven leadership in:
    • Work settings.
    • Extracurricular activities.
  • European work mobility available. Willingness to take on weekday-based European assignments.
  • Analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively:
    • Verbal (English).
    • Written (English + local office language).
