Job Description: Cardiology Consultant
Role Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Cardiology Consultant to join our dynamic team at Northampton General Hospital. This role is pivotal in providing high-quality cardiology services to our patients. You will work within a supportive and innovative environment, contributing to both clinical excellence and professional development.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver expert cardiology consultations and treatments, ensuring the highest standards of patient care.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care plans and outcomes.
- Engage in continuous professional development and maintain up-to-date knowledge in cardiology.
- Contribute to clinical governance and quality improvement initiatives within the department.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to junior medical staff and trainees.
- Conduct and participate in research activities to advance cardiology practice.

Required Qualifications And Experience
- Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) with a license to practice.
- Completion of higher specialist training in Cardiology.
- CCST or CESR in Cardiology.
- Experience in managing a wide range of cardiology conditions.
Desirable Skills
- Expertise in interventional cardiology procedures.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a team and across disciplines.
- Commitment to patient-centred care and continuous improvement.
Compliance Requirements
- Completion of NHS mandatory training.
- Adherence to all Trust policies and procedures.
- Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and data protection standards.
