The Consultant Cardiologist in Abu Dhabi
The Consultant Cardiologist in Abu Dhabi, will lead the diagnosis, treatment, and long-term management of patients with acute and chronic heart failure. Acting as a senior clinical leader, the consultant will deliver evidence-based care, interpret advanced cardiac diagnostics, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to reduce hospital readmissions and improve patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Clinical Care & Diagnostics: Conduct comprehensive outpatient consultations and inpatient ward rounds for heart failure and general cardiology patients. Interpret advanced cardiac testing (e.g., echocardiograms, stress tests, cardiac MRI).
- Multidisciplinary Leadership: Lead the Heart Failure Multidisciplinary Team (MDT), collaborating with specialized nurses, physiotherapists, and community health teams.
- Interventions & Procedures: Manage complex cardiac devices (pacemakers, ICDs) and perform cardiac catheterizations depending on sub-specialty credentialing.
- Patient Education & Counseling: Counsel patients and their families regarding individualized care plans, lifestyle modifications, and prognosis.
- Clinical Governance: Participate in clinical audits, morbidity/mortality reviews, and the implementation of quality improvement (QI) initiatives.
- Education & Training: Supervise junior medical staff (Registrars, SHOs), medical students, and participate in continuing professional development (CPD).

Essential Qualifications & Requirements

- Education: Primary Medical Degree (MBBS or equivalent).
- Licensure: Full and active medical license or Specialist Registration in Cardiology.
- Specialization: Sub-specialty qualification/fellowship training in Heart Failure.
- Experience: Extensive experience in general cardiology with a strong background in heart failure pathophysiology, diagnostics, and therapeutics.
