Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist
Job Overview
We are delighted to offer an exciting Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatry position within Rochdale CAMHS (6-part-time sessions per annum), delivering high-quality clinical input to a supportive, multidisciplinary team. This flexible role can be extended to a full-time (10 PAs) position either by adding 4 PAs to the North Eating Disorders Service or the Crisis Team, or by creating a 7 PAs portfolio with an additional session in the Care for Children’s team.
This tailorable opportunity is ideal for both newly qualified (post-CCT) or experienced consultants who can shape their roles around their clinical passions—be it specialist expertise, leadership, medical education, or portfolio career building. You’ll join a innovative, forward-thinking CAMHS service with opportunities for innovation, service development, and system-wide care pathway contributions.
Role Summary
Core Responsibilities
- Join a Tier 3 Community CAMHS multidisciplinary team in partnership with three other consultants, a GP trainee, and a core trainee, providing psychiatric input routine clinical support.
- Serve as a nominated Consultant at Bone Hill Hospital, Rochdale (OL12 9RD), delivering direct patient care in accordance with designated clinical pathways (to be discussed).
- Embed in the Trust’s CAMHS Care Hub, collaborating within an expanding, dynamic group of 20+ Consultants to advance local, borough, and regional mental health care.
- Engage in post-retirement fulfiller appointment, replacing a partially retiring colleague in a 6-session capacity.

Required Experience & Skills
- CCT qualification in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (Standard minimum).
- Proven expertise in tailored service pathways, with willingness to innovate for better patient outcomes.
- Commitment to team growth and fostering psychiatrist development.
- Demonstrated clinical innovation—structural or therapeutic approaches—preferred.
