Applications are invited for the post of a Consultant General Paediatrician with a special interest in Diabetes and Endocrinology. We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated colleague to join our established team of general paediatricians and our Children's Diabetes Team. We will be looking for someone with experience in diabetes care (ideally SPIN - not essential, can be supported in post) and endocrine experience to join our team. There are 10 programmed activities available. The postholder will join 2 other consultants based on our Musgrove Park Hospital site as part of our multidisciplinary diabetic team and enabling us to continue to meet the Department of Health Best Practice guidelines for paediatric diabetes.

You will join our passionate paediatric senior medical colleagues to be part of our dynamic and forward-thinking paediatric team. Our service provides acute, community and mental health services across the county through Musgrove Park Hospital, Yeovil Hospital and a fully integrated network of children's services. As one of the country's most innovative integrated NHS organisations, we are redesigning care around children and families rather than organisational boundaries, creating exciting opportunities for consultants who want to influence how healthcare is delivered for years to come. Somerset offers the platform to develop a career that is professionally fulfilling whilst enjoying an exceptional quality of life.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
