Consultant in Gastroenterology
A new opportunity has risen to join our friendly team for the post of Consultant in Gastroenterology. This post will be based in West Suffolk Hospital which covers a 33 bedded ward. The post involves in-patient duties, outpatients duties (depending on the specialty interest), and regular commitment to both in-reach into the medical admissions unit and on-call for general medicine.
The West Suffolk Gastroenterology team is currently looking for a consultant in General Medicine on a permanent basis to enhance the current service, as we look forward towards the new hospital build. The applicant would be looking after medical patients on up to 50% of the Gastro ward, which is currently shared by nine Gastro consultants. The consultants are currently rotating on and off the ward on a weekly basis. This provides opportunity for the applicant to have dedicated time to develop their sub-speciality interest, mainly in the afternoons/evenings.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
