Job Description Is Pending Royal College Approval
Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust is seeking to make a substantive whole-time appointment to this newly established post with Bury Mental Health Services. This post will cover a sector of the Bury area. The post has been created due to the current consultant moving to another job in the trust.
The Bury general adult psychiatry service (generally for people aged 16 to 64) has been run since 2008 according to a model whereby our team of consultants are deployed as follows:
- Three consultants work exclusively in the community and outpatient focus areas
- One working with the Early Intervention Service
- Two in the inpatient area, including Home Treatment and two A&E Liaison Team
- One consultant in Living Well
Within this arrangement, the consultant appointed to this post will work with other sector consultants (East, West, and South sector community outpatients).

Bury has a very strong teaching commitment and candidates will be expected to contribute to the teaching of medical and nursing staff.
Patients will be seen in community clinics, at their own homes, or in other clinical settings according to clinical need.
