NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC)

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.

Exciting Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and compassionate Consultant to join the Older People and Stroke Service (OPSS) within NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, working across Royal Alexandra Hospital (RAH) and Vale of Leven Hospital (VOL).

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert clinical care for patients with movement disorders across OPSS.
  • Deliver outpatient clinics across both RAH and VOL, ensuring timely assessment, diagnosis, and management of patients.
  • Contribute to the inpatient care of older people, supporting acute and rehabilitation wards with specialist input.
  • Provide senior clinical leadership, including early decision-making to facilitate patient flow and timely discharge.
  • Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, person-centred care.
  • Support service development, quality improvement initiatives, and innovation within the movement disorders pathway.

The Role

The Successful Candidate Will Undertake:

  • 10 PA sessions per week, with a balanced job plan across inpatient and outpatient activity.
  • Clinical duties across two sites (RAH and VOL), supporting continuity and equity of service delivery.
  • A varied caseload including both acute inpatient management and specialist outpatient clinics in movement disorders.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
