Exciting Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and compassionate Consultant to join the Older People and Stroke Service (OPSS) within NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, working across Royal Alexandra Hospital (RAH) and Vale of Leven Hospital (VOL).
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert clinical care for patients with movement disorders across OPSS.
- Deliver outpatient clinics across both RAH and VOL, ensuring timely assessment, diagnosis, and management of patients.
- Contribute to the inpatient care of older people, supporting acute and rehabilitation wards with specialist input.
- Provide senior clinical leadership, including early decision-making to facilitate patient flow and timely discharge.
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, person-centred care.
- Support service development, quality improvement initiatives, and innovation within the movement disorders pathway.
The Role
The Successful Candidate Will Undertake:
- 10 PA sessions per week, with a balanced job plan across inpatient and outpatient activity.
- Clinical duties across two sites (RAH and VOL), supporting continuity and equity of service delivery.
- A varied caseload including both acute inpatient management and specialist outpatient clinics in movement disorders.

Candidate Requirements
- Fully registered with the General Medical Council (GMC) with a licence to practise.
- Entry on the Specialist Register (or within 6 months of CCT).
- Experience in Geriatric Medicine with an interest in movement disorders.
- Strong commitment to delivering high quality patient care and service improvement.
