Consultant in Rehabilitation Medicine
One of Ireland’s leading specialist rehabilitation hospitals in Dublin is seeking a Consultant in Rehabilitation Medicine to join in a permanent substantive post.
This is an unparalleled opportunity to lead the pioneer Neurorehabilitation Service and help define the future of neurological rehabilitation in Ireland.
The successful candidate will provide clinical leadership while cultivating high-quality, disruptive patient-centred care in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.
About the Neurorehabilitation Unit
The newly launched Neurorehabilitation Unit is a 12-bed inpatient service, dedicated to delivering intensive rehabilitation for adults with:
- Acquired neurological disabilities
- Progressive neurological conditions
The focus is on maximising independence and functional recovery.
The Role
The Consultant in Rehabilitation Medicine will:
- Lead the development, governance, and strategic direction of the Neurorehabilitation Service
- Provide clinical care for adults with complex neurological conditions
- Direct multidisciplinary working and support a collaborative team-based approach
- Contribute to teaching, research, quality improvement and service innovation

This position combines everyday clinical practice alongside strategic service leadership.
Requirements
To be considered for this transformational opportunity, candidates must:
- Be registered—or eligible for Specialist Registration—with the Irish Medical Council (IMC), specialising in Rehabilitation Medicine
- Hold a:
- Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT)
- Certification in Specialist Training (CSCST)
- Equivalent specialist qualification in Rehabilitation Medicine
- Demonstrate 10+ years’ experience managing adults with:
- Complex neurological and rehabilitation needs
- Have specialist expertise in neurorehabilitation, including:
- Acquired brain injury
- Stroke rehabilitation
- Spinal cord injury
- Progressive neurological disorders (e.g., multiple sclerosis, motor neuron disease)
- Prove proven leadership in multidisciplinary rehabilitation settings.

What We Offer

Salary: €238,221–€286,151 per annum (37-hour week), with supplementary overtime rates
