About the Role
WRc are looking for a Consultant Process Engineer to join the Integrated Systems and Environment (IS&E) directorate as a full-time role (37 hours per week) on a hybrid basis from our main office in Swindon.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development
- Collaborate with the Associate Director to identify and develop potential new business opportunities.
- Assist the IS&E directorate team in crafting value propositions and technical solutions for future project opportunities.
- Use networking skills to build strong relationships with internal team members and external contacts to uncover opportunities—supporting other teams as needed.
- Represent IS&E/WRc at internal and external events such as water industry conferences or meetings to boost brand awareness and foster business development.
- Engage with academia and industry partners to enhance business prospects.

Delivery
- Stay informed about emerging environmental challenges and regulatory trends.
- Contribute to proposing, refining, and delivering technical solutions to client challenges.
- Help drive projects to meet or exceed targets for budget, timeline, and quality.
- Provide assistance and support when professional boundaries require finesse under pressure.
Person Specification (Essential Criteria)
Education & Background
- An undergraduate or postgraduate degree (e.g., Master’s/PhD) in a relevant subject:
- Science
- Engineering
- Environmental studies
Experience & Skills
- Demonstrated ability to deliver consultancy across diverse clients, aligning closely with their expectations.
- Strong writing skills to produce robust and detailed deliverables for RSK/WRc.
- Proficient Excel moderation—able to analyse and present data effectively.
- Skilled in PowerPoint, using WRc templates to create presentations for clients, colleagues, and senior management.
- Exceptional analytical problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent interpersonal skills for collaborating with colleagues, clients, partners, and stakeholders.
- Must hold a Full UK driver’s licence.
