Consultant Psychiatrist: EDU
An exciting new job opportunity has arisen for a dedicated Consultant Psychiatrist: EDU to work in a spectacular mental health hospital based in Cheadle, Greater Manchester area. You will be working for one of the UK’s leading healthcare providers.
This hospital offers a comprehensive inpatient specialist mental health service for young people and adults. The service is dedicated to providing innovative, high-quality care and treatment for patients with challenging and complex needs, enabling their recovery and re-engagement with the community.
Requirements
To be considered for this position, you must hold:
- An MBBS or equivalent medical degree
- MRCPsych
- Full GMC registration with a license to practice
Responsibilities
As the Consultant Psychiatrist, your key responsibilities include:
- Leading clinical care for patients, including:
- Psychiatric assessments
- Treatment planning
- Ward rounds
- Responsible Clinician duties under the Mental Health Act
- Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to deliver person-centred, recovery-focused care in a therapeutic environment
- Building and maintaining effective relationships with:
- Referring Trusts
- Community teams
- Families
- External stakeholders
- Supporting service development through:
- Clinical governance
- Quality improvement initiatives
- Compliance with regulatory standards
- Participating in the on-call rota
- Committing to continuous professional development, meeting GMC Revalidation requirements

Preferred Skills and Experience
The following skills and experience are beneficial for the role:
- A good team player who is keen to participate in a multidisciplinary approach to:
- Assessment
- Formulation
- Management plans
- CCST/CCT (or equivalent) in Psychiatry
- Experience of working in inpatient settings with individuals with significant mental health difficulties
- Highly sophisticated communication and interpersonal skills

The successful Consultant Psychiatrist will receive:
- An excellent salary of GBP170,000 per annum
- A permanent full-time role working 37.5 hours per week
