£113,565 – £150,569 per annum (pro rata)

The role
As Consultant Psychiatrist within the Arun Neighbourhood Mental Health Team, you'll provide specialist assessment and treatment for adults with complex and severe mental illness while playing a key leadership role within the service.
You'll:
- Deliver specialist psychiatric assessments and evidence-based treatment
- Act as Responsible Clinician for patients subject to Community Treatment Orders
- Provide clinical supervision to junior doctors and multidisciplinary colleagues
- Undertake Mental Health Act assessments and tribunal work
- Work collaboratively with inpatient teams and external specialist services
- Help shape the ongoing development of community mental health services across West Sussex

About the service
The Arun Neighbourhood Mental Health Team is split into two assessment and treatment teams covering Bognor Regis and Littlehampton, working closely with local GP practices to provide integrated, person-centred care.
You'll also work alongside a wider network of:
- Consultant-led Neighbourhood Mental Health Teams across Coastal West Sussex
- Crisis and Home Treatment Teams
- Enhanced Community Rehabilitation Services
- Inpatient services at Oaklands Centre and Meadowfield Hospital
- Regional PICU services
What we're looking for
We're seeking a Consultant Psychiatrist who has:
- GMC Specialist Registration (or within six months of entry)
- Section 12 approval (or ability to obtain)
- Approved Clinician status (or ability to obtain)
- Excellent clinical expertise in General Adult Psychiatry
- A collaborative leadership style and commitment to service improvement
- An interest in teaching, research or developing specialist areas of practice
