Senior Consultant Forensic CAMHS (FCAMHS) – Lead for South London Partnership (SLP)
This position is responsible for providing joint multi-disciplinary consultant leadership for the regionally commissioned Community Forensic Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (FCAMHS), covering the 12 boroughs within the South London Partnership (SLP).
Managed by South London and Maudiersley NHS Foundation Trust (SLaM), the post will be accountable to the Lead Clinician for National and Specialist CAMHS, ultimately reporting to the Medical Director. This is a replacement post for an established leadership role.
Key Responsibilities
- Work 6 sessions per week, providing flexible support across the 12 SLP boroughs while being based at SLaM.
- Deliver multidisciplinary consultations, assessments, and select interventions for young people, families, and professional networks.
- Maintain Section 12 and Approved Clinician Status to provide consultant-level clinical leadership to the team.
- Work directly with children, adolescents, and families using specialist knowledge in forensic mental health.
- Produce timely and high-quality assessment and review reports, ensuring compliance with:
- Safeguarding standards
- Relevant legislation (including the Mental Health Act, Children’s Act, and Mental Capacity Act)
- Progressive clinical practice within the service.
- Uphold high service standards, fostering a safeguarding-first approach in all work.
