Consultant Psychiatrist Vacancy – Walton CMHT (Norris Green Hub, Liverpool)
About the Role
The Trust is seeking a consultant psychiatrist to join the Walton Community Mental Health Team (CMHT) based at Norris Green Hub, 69 Falklands Approach, Liverpool L11.
This 1 whole-time-equivalent (WTE) opportunity has arisen following the retirement of the previous post holder.
Part of three general adult consultant psychiatrist posts (all 1 WTE) at Norris Green Hub, the team serves a catchment of ~120,000 working-age adults in the Mid-North Liverpool region. The role covers Walton, an area reflecting broad population diversity, including social deprivation, substance-related challenges, and urban environments.
Key Notes on the Post:
- No inpatient responsibilities required.
- The team is structured into three CMHT branches, this being one:
- 1 WTE consultant psychiatrist (this role)
- 1 WTE higher/core psychiatric trainee
- 0.5 WTE dedicated Band 4 medical secretary (shared time with other teams)
- 1 FTE Band 7 team leader
- 5 WTE community psychiatric nurses (Band 5–6)
- 7 WTE social workers (shared between all three teams)
- 1 WTE senior occupational therapist (Band 6, shared)
- 1 WTE psychologist
- 4 WTE support/recovery workers (Band 3, shared)

Core Workscopes:
- Referral management from inpatient services, A&E, and access teams.
- Clinical case reviews in line with WTE responsibilities.
- Supervision of assessments for new team additions or ascending care needs.
- Complex/high-risk assessments for patients entering care.
- Managed caseload within the Walton CMHT framework.
- Access to links with Lithium and Health & Wellbeing Clinics.
