Job Description
Consultants take responsibility for project delivery and management, while helping to coach, manage, and develop more junior members of the team. This position is for a consultant to sit within our Aviation and Transportation Strategy team. Consultants are required to support Directors in both marketing and business development, as well as play a key role in developing and enhancing the Aviation & Transportation proposition offered. As a result, Consultants take on a good amount of responsibility across a number of areas, gain exposure to the wider business, clients, and industry while still benefiting extensively from senior team guidance and support.
Key Responsibilities
Project Design and Delivery
- Take responsibility for delivering multiple projects of varying size, being the primary day-to-day contact for clients and Benoy team members. Ensure processes are clear, defined, and aligned with proposals and that all team members know their role, allocated tasks and timings, and required outputs.
- Establish and maintain a project plan and schedule check-ins with the team to track progress. Update the client and senior members on progress and requirements.
- Provide guidance to the team on project issues and where appropriate refer upwards to senior members to intervene.
- Lead client meetings, in handling client queries, clarifying points on the analysis, and highlighting discrepancies.
- Manage the client relationship by scheduling regular touch points, dealing with queries, providing project updates, and escalating concerns.
- Establish a project hypothesis and make decisions on report content and the most appropriate methodologies to utilize. Report significant changes requested by the client and ensure swift resolution in tandem with senior team members.
- Drive report production and recommendations produced by the team. Review content, analysis, and recommendations before submitting to senior members for sign off.
- Schedule post-project reviews and complete project feedback forms.
- Lead internal strategic project groups to improve processes and in-house analytic tools.

Analytical Insight
- Source data and/or suppliers of the data necessary to carry out projects.
- Carry out the entire data gathering activities or lead the data gathering carried out by the team on larger projects.
- Lead the moderation for focus groups and support junior members, where required.
- Lead the team in determining the original hypothesis or propose alternative hypothesis based on the data gathered.
- Review the analysis produced by the team and manipulate the data into meaningful insights.
- Highlight any data discrepancies gathered or seek further clarification.
- Generate meaningful assumptions to the analysis where there are gaps.
- Identify key messages to present to the client.
- Structure the storyboard so that key messages are aligned to the client needs and interests.
- Support the team in creating stimulus material for focus groups and interviews.

People Management, Leadership, and Team Development
- Nurture and develop talent and high potentials in the team by setting stretching objectives, facilitating development opportunities, and aligning projects to match development needs.
- Give timely feedback, guidance, and coaching.
- Identify ways to motivate and reward your team using non-monetary approaches such as thank you’s, company shout outs, team activities, and celebratory events.
Financial and Business Performance
- Draft proposals for creation by the bid team, including the sourcing of data and subcontractors, the provision of methodology, costing, and timescales.
Business Development
- Identify ways to expand the client network by developing professional relationships with the wider Benoy team and external counterparts on projects, networking, and LinkedIn.
- Keep in touch with past and existing clients on data, insights, and trends that are of interest to them.
- Responsible for leading on research and data gathering activities for marketing and pitches.
- Write articles, white papers, product focuses, Pulse, and case study reports to support business development.
- Attend direct client meetings and industry events to promote Benoy and its services. Provide and present case study and example outputs to support client engagement.
