Technical Solution Architect – i3Works

Compensation & Working Arrangements

  • Base Salary: £50,000 – £80,000 (depending on experience)
  • Bonus: Yearly bonus
  • Working Model: Hybrid (home-based and client-site travel required)
  • Travel: Must be within easily commutable distance of Bristol and available to co-locate at client sites (typically within 50 miles of Bristol or along the M4 corridor)
  • Hours: Full-time (40 hours/5 days a week)

About the Role

We are seeking a Technical Solution Architect to help expand our i3Works technology architecture capabilities and drive high-value, secure, and scalable solutions across the defence, private, and public sectors.

As a key position, you will not only design and deliver robust IT solutions but also lead technical strategy, ensuring our clients receive best-in-class infrastructure and applications tailored to their objectives. This role requires strong leadership, effective stakeholder communication, and a collaborative mindset.


Role & Responsibilities

As a Technical Solution Architect, you will:

  • Deliver end-to-end solution design for complex IT systems while meeting deadlines, budgets, and client requirements.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into scalable, secure, and efficient architectural frameworks.
  • Simplify technical concepts for both technical and non-technical stakeholders, enabling informed decision-making.
  • Verify designs against enterprise standards, security policies, and compliance requirements.
  • Oversee implementation through governance, risk management, and continuous improvement practices.
  • Recommend optimal technologies and methodologies to enhance performance, resilience, and innovation.

Key Requirements & Security Clearance

✔ Must hold (or obtain) National Security Vetting (NSV) clearance, preferably at High or Very High standard. ✔ Willingness to travel frequently to client sites. ✔ Experience in:

  • Public and private cloud environments (design and deployment).
  • Secure or regulated environments (e.g., defence, nuclear, public sector).
  • Leadership in complex solution architecture, including systems, applications, and infrastructure.

Desirable Skills & Experience:

  • Deep technical expertise in end-to-end IT solutions (hardware, software, security).
  • Experience with large-scale systems (design, delivery, and management).
  • Strong stakeholder engagement (ability to communicate with executives, end-users, and technical teams).
  • Proven track record in regulated environments (e.g., CIA/TSC compliance).
  • Public & private sector experience (preferably in defence, nuclear, or healthcare sectors).
