We are seeking a Consultant / Senior Sustainability Consultant to join our LII Places Sustainability Team. Our team focuses on embedding sustainability into projects, offering transformative services to strengthen our clients' sustainability governance and performance.

Role Accountabilities
This diverse yet dynamic role will see you providing sustainability services across public and private sector clients while supporting the growth of the LII Places Sustainability Team. Key responsibilities include:

Sustainability Assessments & Accreditations
- Lead day-to-day delivery for BREEAM, LEED, WELL, and other high-profile sustainability assessments.
- Chair client and design team meetings to align on requisite information and evidence.
- Prepare and submit professional reports to accrediting bodies (e.g., BRE, USGBC).
- Forecast assessment scores and provide regular updates to project teams.

Underpinning Delivery & Strategic Contributions
- Prepare and maintain monthly tracking schedules for project progress.
- Perform environmental, sustainability, and accreditation gap analyses.
- Support on integrated technical studies, including sustainability and resilience chapters in Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) and sustainable masterplanning efforts.
- Draft, review, and update sustainability strategies, statements, and policies.

Knowledge Sharing & Innovation
- Aid internal development of sustainability thought leadership across Arcadis.
- Share expertise externally through client engagements and proposition development (bids, proposals).
Qualifications & Experience
Essential
- Proven technical and commercial acumen in sustainability professionally.
- 3+ years’ experience in sustainability consultancy.
- Licensing/qualifications in key accreditation schemes (e.g., BREEAM AP).
- Demonstrated success in leading credentialed projects from inception to certified close.
- Strong analytical skills with expertise in managing datasets across platforms.
- Proficient in Excel and Power BI with analytical insight.
- Commitment to engaging thought-leadership—internally and externally.
- In-depth knowledge of carbon/climate challenges and broader sustainability strategies.
- Ability to lead or assist with client presentations, crafting compelling proposals and bids.

Desired
- Professional Memberships or chartered status (e.g., IEMA, CIOB).
- Experience with tools like Tracker-Plus and IES TaP.
- Project/portfolio management experience, especially with complex or multistakeholder sustainability projects.
