About the Role:

We are recruiting for a permanent, full-time Consultant Social Worker in our Family Help Team in Stratford District, who will specialise in child protection and court work.

We are looking for a highly experienced social worker who will work with less experienced social workers and family practitioners to direct and oversee case work ensuring all court preparation is clear, relevant, specific, and timely. They will also hold allocated families of their own to work with.

Liaising with legal services, offering support and challenge to build confidence in those less experienced practitioners to ensure the best outcomes for our children, young people, and families.

Key Requirements:

  • Applicants for the role will need a professional Social Work qualification and Social Work England Registration.
  • Previous experience of court preparation and child protection.
  • Minimum of 4 years post-qualifying experience.
  • Driving is a requirement of the role.
  • On occasion, you may need to work outside of core hours to deal with emergent issues, e.g., an emergency application to court.

Consultant Social Worker - Grade O

As part of our market supplement: Consultant Social Worker – Grade O: Up to £53,769 per annum (Includes a £3,500 pro-rated annual market supplement which is subject to pension, tax, and NI deductions. Ts&Cs apply). Plus, Relocation Allowance up to £8,000 may be available if the relevant policy criteria are met. Ts&Cs apply).

About the Team:

Our district-based locality Family Help Team works with a range of families including those in need of Family Help Assessment, Targeted Early Support, Children in Need, those on the Edge of Care or Child Protection and Court, and children in care until they have a plan of permanency outside of their parents' care or with a plan of reunification home. Our Family Help Teams are multi-agency with Family Support Worker, Family Practitioners, Social Workers, Systemic Consultants, Police Community Support Officers, and soon NHS Nurses - all working together to meet the holistic needs of our families to reduce risk and keep families together.
