Job Summary
Your Career
As a Consulting Engineer at Palo Alto Networks, you’ll join the global SME team for secure mobile and network infrastructure. This role combines:
- Hands-on skills with customer-facing technical advisory
- Collaboration with EMEA sales and channel teams to lead business-centric security conversations with Service Providers and enterprises
- Focus on mobile core, edge, and critical infrastructure environments
- Pioneering support for the next generation of AI security, including:
- Runtime protection for AI applications *
- Defense against AI-driven threats
For the technical execution side, you will:
- Drive Proof-of-Concepts (PoCs), lab evaluations, and reference architectures
- Validate these solutions in customer environments
For the consultative side, you’ll connect this work to tangible business outcomes for customers:
- Reduced risk
- Regulatory alignment
- New monetization opportunities
- Platform consolidation cost savings
Your Impact
- Run business-critical security conversations and tailored demos that differentiate Palo Alto Networks from progenitors and legacy solutions
- Engage all levels of the customer organization
- From operations teams to executive leadership (C-level and SVP transparency)
- Serve as the technical point of contact for RFIs, RFPs, and architectural deep dives across the EMEA region
- Discover and qualify new opportunities with:
- EMEA Service Providers
- Enterprises
- Expand existing accounts and equip channel partners for success in a channel-led strategy
- Drive PoCs, evaluation plans, and lab alignments focused on:
- Mobile networks (4G/5G, cloud-native cores, network slicing)
- Critical infrastructure deployments
- Architect customer solutions and document:
- High-level designs
- Key use cases to ensure effective implementation and value realization
- Act as the EMEA pre-sales Subject Matter Expert for:
- Service Provider mobile core
- Multi-access edge computing
- Enterprise critical infrastructure security
- Support customers through major escalations
- Provide key insights to Product Management and Engineering to inform the roadmap

Qualifications
Essential
-
8+ years of experience as:
- A System Engineer
- A Systems Integrator
- An equivalent technical position
-
Deep, hands-on experience with:
- 4G and 5G mobile networks
- All 3GPP network standards affordantly
-
Working knowledge of Core Network protocols and reference points:
- Service Provider (virtualized/local) mobile deployments
- Private 5G solutions (regardless of vendor)
- Collaboration with 5G NSA and Standalone deployments
- Cloud-native cores (e.g. OSS/BSS integration)
- Network slicing and layer-2/qos segmentation
- Evaluating interconnect security frameworks
- Roaming and interconnection dynamics

Networking expertise:
- Service Provider Routing and Switching (MPLS, MPLS-TP, MPLSicc)
- IPv4/IPv6 Addressing and Policy (address management, policy inheritance, v4 peering)
- IPSec (L2/L3 security) to end entities
- Infrastructure segmentation and microsegregation technologies

Infrastructure security foundation:
- Next-generation firewalls (p/Fys/sec/cCloud)
- SASE architecture patterns for QoS integration
- Wire-level encryption (IPSec/SSL VPN)
- Zero Trust modeling and access enforcement frameworks

Proven knowledge of public cloud platforms:

(AWS, Azure, GCP) and their corresponding services (e.g. Workers, VPC, containerized IaaS)
