Why Join AES?
AES (Advanced Engineering Solutions) is expanding its advisory services in water engineering consulting, and we’re looking for an ambitious individual to drive this growth. With a strong reputation in pipeline engineering and a unique dataset of condition assessments, we’re positioned to offer game-changing insights to water utilities. This is more than an engineering role—it’s a chance to lead, influence, and grow a consultancy practice within an established engineering firm. If you're passionate about combining technical expertise with commercial acumen, this is the perfect role for you.
The Role
With the water industry shifting its focus to Asset Health in the latest regulatory period (AMP8), utilities need smarter, data-driven decision-making. AES is at the forefront of this evolution, providing cutting-edge pipeline inspections and structural assessments.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
