Consumer Duty Embedment Manager – Barclays
Purpose of the Role
To manage and develop existing and new products/services, embed Consumer Duty frameworks, and drive outcomes aligned with FCA regulation. Key responsibilities include:
- Developing, owning, and delivering product strategy, governance, and commercial execution
- Managing customer and colleague journeys to ensure fair, high-quality outcomes
- Collaborating across teams to translate regulatory compliance into actionable initiatives
- Championing a data-driven and customer-centric approach
Core Accountabilities
Product & Strategy Leadership
- Design tailored customer-centric strategies that meet Barclays’ regulatory obligations
- Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Consumers Duty, advising stakeholders on compliance and outcomes
- Develop clear business models, commercial frameworks, and enhancement strategies
Regulatory & Risk Compliance
- Assess technical feasibility, legal, and risk considerations for new products/services
- Monitor FCA Consumer Duty requirements, ensuring alignment in all decisions
Execution & Assurance
- Lead launch plans (go-live timelines, communications, rollouts)
- Monitor KPIs such as customer satisfaction, adoption rates, complaints, and revenue impact
- Drive continuous improvement through user testing, beta programmes, and feedback integration
Data & Decision-Making
- Analyse internal/external data to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for refinement
- Work with stakeholders to align measurement frameworks with regulatory expectations
