At Cancer Research UK, our marketing, fundraising and engagement activity is most effective when it is rooted in a deep understanding of what matters to our audiences. That's where the Consumer Insight and Experience (CIX) team comes in.
We're looking for a Consumer Insight and Experience Manager to join our Data, Insight and Performance (DIP) directorate on an 8-month fixed-term contract covering an internal secondment. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced researcher to play a pivotal role in ensuring decisions across Marketing, Fundraising and Engagement (MFE) are informed by robust consumer insight and a strong understanding of audience needs, motivations and experiences.
Working alongside the Senior Managers in the Consumer Insight and Experience team, you'll lead insight projects to understand the attitudes and behaviors of our audiences and translate insight into actionable recommendations to inform proposition development and strategies.
You'll combine strong research expertise with excellent stakeholder management skills, and ability to translate evidence into compelling recommendations that influence decision-making across the organisation.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
