Job Title: Consumer Insight Senior Manager – Sun & Sunlight Engagement
Reports To: Home & Hygiene Consumer Insight Director
Location: 100VE – minimum 3 days a week in office or at meeting agencies or consumers
ROLE PURPOSE
The Consumer Insight Manager for Sun and Sunlight is responsible for leading consumer understanding and insight-driven decision making across the brands' growth, innovation and equity agendas. The role partners closely with Marketing, R&D, Design, Finance and external agencies to ensure that consumer insight is translated into business action, supporting both near-term delivery and long-term strategic growth. The position combines strategic leadership with hands-on operational execution, managing a diverse portfolio of projects spanning innovation development, brand equity, communication, semiotics, consumer learning plans and business performance support. Evidence from recent work includes leadership of Sun innovation pipeline discussions, Sunlight brand semiotics programmes, logo evaluation projects, budget management activities, and business-wide insight recommendations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Consumer Insight Leadership
- Shape the consumer learning agenda for Sun and Sunlight.
- Identify opportunities for future growth through deep consumer understanding and market interpretation.
- Influence brand strategy, innovation roadmaps and long-term portfolio decisions.
- Provide insight leadership on future innovation opportunities and brand development programmes.
Innovation & Brand Development
- Lead consumer insight programmes supporting innovation, renovation and portfolio optimisation.
- Translate consumer learning into clear recommendations for cross-functional teams.
- Partner with Marketing and R&D to evaluate future product concepts and growth opportunities.
- Support development of multi-year innovation pipelines and growth plans.
Brand Equity, Semiotics & Communication
- Commission and manage qualitative, quantitative and semiotic research programmes.
- Lead interpretation of research findings and convert them into actionable recommendations.
- Provide guidance on brand identity development, visual assets and communication effectiveness.
- Manage critical projects relating to brand semiotics, logo evaluation and equity strengthening

Stakeholder & Agency Management
- Act as a trusted insight partner to senior brand stakeholders.
- Coordinate work across global, regional and local teams.
- Manage external research agencies and specialist partners to deliver high-quality learning and recommendations.
- Present insight findings and facilitate decision making at key business forums.
Operational Delivery & Governance
- Oversee end-to-end execution of consumer research projects including briefing, design, fieldwork, analysis and debrief.
- Manage budgets, spending priorities and project resource allocation.
- Ensure research programmes are delivered on time, within budget and to required quality standards.
- Support team capability building, documentation and knowledge sharing.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Strong expertise in consumer insights, market research and brand strategy.
- Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders through evidence-based recommendations.
- Experience managing qualitative, quantitative and semiotic research programmes.
- Strong project management, prioritisation and budget management capabilities.
- Excellent communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to translate complex findings into clear business actions.
- Proven ability to work across functions and lead multiple projects simultaneously.
